<E46> first impression

I must say that the E46 looks a lot better in person than it does on
paper.  I sat in one at the local dealer (no time to test drive)...and:

  The seating position lacks the intimacy of my E30.  It feels like
there's a lot more space between me and the controls (the shifter,
wheel, and pedals) -- yes, I did play with the seat adjuster.  The
gauge cluster is smaller and a bit busier looking than my E30.

I can't wait to take one out for a spin, though!
