Oil leaks on a E36/M42

I have a 1992 318iS and have a small oil leak.  It seems to be dripping from the
crankcase positioner sensor.  I have tried to see where it come from and the
oil 
seems to be coming down the wire leading to this positioner sensor.  I would
guess the the crankcase front oil seal is the problem.  Any experience with
this problem?

I have looked at the repair manual and the one part I am concerned about is
removing the crankcase pully and exactly how to remove the nut.  Any ideas?
