reverse light switch for 90 535i

i know there's been a number of reverse lights not working going around, my
girlfriend's 1990 535i's reverse light isn't working like everyone else's,
nothing is wrong with the fuses, nothing wrong with the bulbs, i know
there's a specific switch to change too as an option, can someone maybe give
me the part number?? and is it a DIY?? if it is, could someone also give me
specific directions on how i'd approach in doing that.
