just got back from ofest and dutifully weeded through all the digests tha=
t
came in. bummed when I read the one about Jim C sharking cars in the
parking lot. missed it. if only that had been advertised a bit during
ofest instead of just to the digesters who weren't there. oh well! =
the 100k M car was unveiled. very nice purple color with purple/blue/gre=

interior. it would have looked nice in the garage next to my purple M3,
but I was not one of the lucky 13 to have a chance of getting it on "M" d=

in Spartenburg 14 Nov. sorry, didn't write down the winners, they drew
them a couple each night over the course of the week. nobody at ofest won=

test drove the M roadster, coupe and new 328i.
- - roadster felt the same as other z3's I have driven. same cowl shake,
more power.
- - coupe was a bit stiffer, pretty fun, but..... I can't understand why
there is no headroom in that car. I am just barely six ft tall, and my he=
ad
was hitting the roof. there is no way in h... that I could get a helmet =
on
and drive it. the power moonroof is a total waste. all the power does is=
flip up the back of the glass. a manual latch, like on the toyota MR2 I
used to have, would have been easier/cheaper/quicker to use. maybe witho=
ut
the moonroof at all, I might not have hit my head, but I still don't thin=
k
a helmet would fit.
- -328i was very nice inside, but like others have said, it doesn't drive
very well. SOFT! it probably didn't help that somone before me must hav=

tagged a curb or something because the steering wheel was way offcenter a=
nd
the thing tracked like it had big toe out "dialed" in.
BZ to the organizers of the event!
