Hi E36 M3 Gangs!; I have this small (faint) vibration at 900 & 1500 RPM from
the engin; that can be felt on the steering wheel. Has anyboddy else have;
the same vibration. I took it to 3 dealers and they said it is some; kinda
unknown harmonic noise and don't worry about it.; I have 11K miles on the
engine.; Thanks.; Mahshad; 97 M3 Lux.; GGC
Mahshad-- I too have the harmonic vibration prob, but at slightly
different points (900 and 2000 rpm). Have had it on my car (98 M3/4) since
purchase. Told by dealer and other digesters it is "a characteristic of the
motor" and BMW does not propose a fix, so live with it. Personally its the
only thing about the car I don't like, but it really bugs me... I put up a
post like yours a few months ago and got back 3 responses from M3 owners
with the 900-1100 rpm vibration, but noone with 1500 or 2000 rpm buzzes.
Let me know if you come up with anything more. john-- 98 m3/4 bl/ss'd,
braced, redlined and a bit whiney when babied (ain't we all?)
