Tie Rod and Control Arm Dust Boots

Hi


Does any one have any creative ways to remove a tie rod or a control arm
without damaging the dust boot (and the rest of it).

I know about the forks made for this job, but I think they will tear the
boots. Also I think the boots themselves are replaceable. Any one know
about this?
