Z3 2.8 options

Dear Digesters:

Thanks to everyone who replied to my message about my dilemma in choosing
between an 1999 M Roadster and a Z3 2.8, whether you replied in the digest
or to my personal email.

After test-driving both cars, reading your comments, and other financial
considerations, I made up my mind on the 2.8. I looked through many official
BMW websites in other countries like Japan, Israel, South Africa, etc., and
discovered that the M Roadsters are NOT available in most countries. Plus,
some countries have a Z3 1.8 version! Additionally, I went to an authorized
BMW dealer in central London, UK, and found the new M Roadster for 56,500
British pounds (MSRP), equivalent of $97,000 (including UK sales tax of
17.5%)!

Now, I would like to hear your opinions about options for my new 2.8. First
of all, I am price sensitive, so I have no need for any over the top fancy
wood-trims, electric power top, etc. Second, I will use the car in Boston,
MA. Third, this is going to be a secondary car, my wife will get a SUV
(haven't decided on that one yet). Those of you who have the car for while,
I would appreciate to hear which options have you found useful/necessary.
Any specific comments about the side air bags, sports seats, upgraded stereo
/ CD are very welcome.

Thanks,
Tamer Rashad
