Cam, Exhaust Advice

I have an '87 535iS, auto.  Just redid the bottom end, and am rebuilding a
spare head to install.  Engine has Conforti chip and K&N filter.  Need
advice on cams;

I mainly want more mid-range grunt and torque-

We will be doing some mild porting.

I will keep the stock exhaust system for awhile, until I capture enuff money
to put in a freer system.  Which system?

WHICH CAM (manufacturer & model/grind) do I want?  Why?
