I also suspect that Murray saw the 316i which in its three flavors,
compact, sedan and coupe, is BMW's most popular model. The font BMW
uses on the rear badges is one of the less legible. Unless you look
fairly carefully, it is easy to mistake a "6" for an "8" or
vice-versa. Many find the tailpipe easier to "read".
