Neat rule Michel, did you make that rule up yourself? I followed your=

THE LEFT FRONT AND RIGHT REAR WHEELS TO THE TRAILER FLOOR TRACKS. All=
E-36s ever shipped by truck were secured that way. That method is BMW's=
rule. They don't bounce in transit because spacer blocks are installed in=
the springs to stiffen them during transit and are removed during dealer=
prep. The idea that the wheel/spindle is the weakest part of the car is=
pure horsepucky.

The facts, not "opinions" are that both Passport Transport and Intercity=
Lines do not lash their cargo down by the chassis either. Both carriers=
leave the suspensions free to move just as my oringinal post correctly=
recommended to Henry. The only time that they lash down a chassis is if=
cars are too high to fit under the upper level ramps, or are too softly=
sprung such as a 50s Cadillac. As a matter of fact, the racing cars and=
show cars that were shipped from Prototype Technologies to the Pittsburgh=
Vintage Grand Prix in July were hauled here and back by Intercity. You=
see, Intercity has the contract with BMWNA to haul their cars. They also=
have contracts with Rolls Royce, Porsche and others too. Seems that it is=
spelled out in their contract that the method of tying down the cars is to=
fasten the cars to the trailers using wheel tiedowns, NOT the chassis,=
according to Interstate's company representative Bob Sellers=
1-800-221-3936. The M-1, 3.0 Coupe, Mclaren, and 1936 328 were all=
transported with that method according to Bob.=20

I guess that the guys who do this professionally ARE impressed with both=
tying down a car by passing a strap through a wheel or over the=
circumference of the tires, since THAT IS WHAT THEY USE exclusively.

For cryin' out loud, if you post get your technical facts straight. If you=
attempt to flame someone for their post-Really get your facts straight.
