shimmy gremlins

I own a 1992 325i, I have a shimming problem. Sometimes when driving
over 60km/h the steering will rock from side to side. Also, sometimes
when I press on the brake pedal the steering wheel rocks from side to
side. I doubt it has to do with unbalanced wheels, beacuse 2 months ago
I had an alignment and wheel balance done. Any idea to what it might be?
