Going from oil to synthetic!!

Hello all!
I have recently made the decision to go from regular oil to synthetic oil
and I need to know what I need to do.  That is what steps do I need to
take?  What should I use to clean out the old
oil before putting in the synthetic?  By the way I have decided to go with
Mobil1.  Is this a good decision?  What is a good weight?  I would
appreciate any inputs.  Thanks!
