In reference to your question. It's pretty simple to calculate.
The first number (235) is the width in millimeters, the second (40) is
the "aspect ratio" or profile as a function of the width aka height,
ie:235/40/17 =the profile is 40% of the width, 40% of 235mm is 94mm.
So the diameter of the first wheel is 188mm plus 17 inches. I don't
know mm to inch coversion but you get the idea.
