I believe the original poster's rims are the 15" basket-weave alloys that
came with pre-'95 sport-pack 325is'. These came with 225/55s as standard,
although the rim width is the same as every other 15" alloy on the e36,
i.e. 7". So either 205 or 225 will fit.

However you're quite right in reminding everyone that imperial tyres won't
fit on trx rims, more's the pity.
