If you have the BMW/Alpine (sliding door) you can use 82-11-1-467-009 ($17
retail) "E36 side-mounting Bracket" which will hang the unit from studs
already in place just below the trunk edge above the battery and a
captivated nut up near the Euro warning triangle docking clip (which you
have to remove) under the rear shelf.  If you have the  BMW/Pioneer use
82-11-1-468-292 ($44 retail) which mounts similarly but not as elegant as
the Alpine fitment.  Either will require the standard mounts which came
with the BMW units.  Or you can screw the std bracket right to the rear
shelf which is fine if you don't have fold down seats.  If your CD is the
Pioneer aftermarket, you'll just have to make do with what you've got.  It
should have come with L-brackets and a strap.
