If the 87 is the dual exhaust version, (newer style engine), then get it!

Even if its not the newer one, it will have some big advantages over the 533i

Advantages
A) 14 inch rims, (not TRX)
B) much better gas economy (cost will be almost half)
C) newer car (probably has a computer and ABS)
   (ok, maybe ABS is a disadvantage)

Disadvantage
A) Timing belt needs replacement every 80k km (50k miles ?)
B) Less powerfull (but you still have decent torque) 
C) Not as useable at a track event

Note:
Given the choice, I chose (and still choose) the 2.7 eta over the 3.2.
(I can take my wifes car whenever I want, but I dont drive it much)
