318ti fan shroud screws
Hey all you 318ti owners, check your fan shroud screws!
At the Windy City Chapter's Club Race at Road America last month, two 318tis
were entered, and both lost their fan/shroud assemblies within a couple of laps
of each other. Just what happened, you ask? The two screws holding the top of
the fan shroud assembly to the radiator came out and things got real loose real
fast under the hood.
Then at an autocross last weekend, two 318ti owners said the same thing almost
happened to them - one screw was missing and the other was loose.
This seems to be a common problem with 318tis.
The "cure" is to put a couple of tie wraps around the brackets near the screws
to help hold the assembly in place.
