E36 Questions
Hi all,
I have probably been getting this digest for over a year and a half, but
have never written in. Oh well, guess it's time to try it.
I had a close-encounter of the GMC Suburban kind two weeks ago. Took
off the front half of my '92 325i. :( So the insurance totalled it out,
and now I am without my baby bimmer! Well, I searched Southern Califonia
for a week at least, and couldn't find a used example to my liking-
had to be 5-spd, 93 or 94, hopefully sport suspension, and less than 40K
miles. Well I finally found it, and put a deposit on it. It's a 94 325i
(saloon), boston green, with 34K miles on it. I got it for $22K
without wheels or CD changer
(I took my M3 lux (M Contour) wheels of my deceased car). It has the
sport suspension, armrest, all the goodies (except headed seats :( )
The skirts and bumper are all painted the same color as the body. I have
a question about that-the guy, P.K. Bimmerz, said he gets the cars as
run-out leases and sells them to the dealerships. He sold it as
having an 'M3 package', whatever that is, b/c of the suspension and
painted ground effects.
I assume the sport suspension is considerably softer than that of
the M3. Is that true? Also, I know that of course this car doesn't have
the M3 front air dam or any of that, but I would like it to look as close to
the euro M3 saloon as possible (I've already got the wheels). (I might also
buy an actual M3 air dam in the future)
Basically, what's the story behind this package? It wasn't offered on my 92,
and the guy said it's all factory.
Oh and what do yall think about the price? Thanks in advance,"
