My E28 528 Motorsport had a problem similar to this. Before pulling the seat out, it appeared to be a threaded mounting bolt where the seat is connected to the chassis. When I pulled the Recaro out I found the chassis metal had completely cracked around the bolt and had to be welded. I wonder how many other people have had this unusual problem. Cheers, Richard
