Mobil 1 baseline data 15-50

I just had a sample of clean, unused Mobil 1 analyzed be Cleveland
Technical Center. I have been experimenting with synthetics in a 633CSI
with about 120,000 miles. The unused sample results were as follows:

Wear metal sources all "0". (iron, chromium, lead, copper, tin,
 aluminum, nickel, silver, manganese)

Additives:
silicon 5 (also indicates level of airbourne dirt and abrasives)
Boron 196 (Mobil 1 uses quite a bit while Syntec and Amsoil do not)
sodium 0
magnesium 596
calcium 2473
barium 0
phosphorus 1199
zinc 1365
molybdenum 200
potassium 0 (usually in anti-freeze)
titanium and vanadium 0 (trace elements/wear indicatiors)
vis. @ 100 deg. C. cST 18.38 (50 wt. from 16.3 to 21.89)
TBN 10.9
TAN 2.24

At 4000-4500 miles oil usually shows viscosity of about 17.00, TBN about
4.77, TAN about 4.43, silicon about 8 using BMW air and oil filters,
solida about .1 (% of vol.)

I hope someone finds this useful. I have not used lighter weights of
synthetics.
