<E30><M3> Ignition component life

     All;
     
     I have R&R'd the cap/rotor/plugs on my '90. At that point thay had 
     70k+ mi(they were original) and didn't look THAT bad at all. When I 
     started and ran the machine after installing these items there was NO 
     difference in idle characteristics, accel., part throttle op, etc. No 
     surprise to me.
     
     Question: My machine now has 78k mi on the ticker and still has the 
     ORIGINAL plug wires and ignition coil. Are these near the end of their 
     life ?
