E36 Brake Pedal MUSH

Hey All-

Took my car on a 200 mile+ high speed, two-lane (read lots of passing,
braking) road trip and let it sit immediately after trip...and I went to
drive it six hours later and my brake pedal went to the firewall.  It gets
better as I drive but I've definitely lost a lot of pressure.  I can
depress the pedal hard and push it all the way back.

I did not have SuperBlue racing brake fluid (read high boiling point) and
I'm wondering if any other experiences have resulted in simply air bubbles
in fluid (fix=bleed & refill) or whether I'm facing a larger problem like
replacing a master cylinder...

Any similar experiences?  TIA-
