pedals.  if you remove the underdash cardboard fascia, you'll see one
switch on each of the clutch and brake pedals.  These switches let the
cruise know when you press the pedals so it can disengage.

On my car, one of the brackets was bent, so the switch never closed.
make sure the switch closes when the pedal is resting and opens when
the pedal is depressed.
