735iL Suspension Leveling

I'm sending this for a friend that doesn't have access to the digest.

He recently purchased a 1990 735iL and the previous owner removed the stock
shocks and replaced them with less expensive, non-OEM shocks.

Every so often, the LED readout on his dash gives him a warning about the
"Suspension Leveling". Is there any way to disable this function from the
OBC? Has anyone done this and is it difficult? Any input would be
appreciated.
