RE - turning off lights when key removed?

Hi Larry
If you arrange your switching set-up as you suggest, you will
not be able to leave your PARKING lights on at night when parked at
the side of a dark street or if your car broke down at night along a
busy road (God forbid a Bimmer would break down).
I got over this problem by fitting a 12 volt buzzer connected to the
light switch via the door switch so when I open the door with the lights
on, the buzzer goes off and reminds me to switch off the lights. Since
I fitted the buzzer 3 years ago, I have not had the problem you
describe.
Hope this helps --- Pat Egan (Ireland)

Subject: turning off lights when key removed

i asked this question before and received no comments... let's try
again. I have an 88 325i conv and our company has passed down the
edict
that we will drive with our headlights on during the daytime for safety
reasons. What is the most economical way to fix my lights so that
they
all(headlights and parking lights) go off when the key is
removed(avoiding burned out batteries if i mistakenly leave the lights
on)? i know the headlights go off when the key is removed actually,
but
the parking lights stay on and drain the battery. thius has happened
to
me already and i don't want to happen again... help?
