I think supercharging is great. I plan on adding a supercharger to the
'96 M3 I am purchasing. I already have a supercharged '95 camaro that
puts out well over 400 hp and it is great. The only problem you may
encounter is if you run full throttle for extended periods of time, you
may blow your head gaskets or do some other damage. The compression on
the M3 is 10.5:1 just like my camaro, and I have had no trouble, but
I am very easy on my engine generally. Also, you need to find someone
that is experienced in the installation of your particular unit. You
will notice such a huge difference in performance, you would not be
dissapointed in installing one, even though you have done extensive mods
to your engine, those will only enhance the performance. The two things
that are really important with the supercharger is making sure your
computer is set up to retard timing at high levels of boost and make
sure you have enough fuel getting in. If you dont, your engine will be
lost. Good Luck. Sorry for the length.

P.S. If you have it done, let us know about your performance gains in
a future letter.
