OBC strangeness

OK, I have a strange problem.  Its happened ever since the last time my wife
killed the battery and I had to reset the dash language from German to
English.

The display messages come up in English (Coolant Level, etc) but the OBC data
(time, MPG, etc) are displayed in what appears to be a variety of languages. 
fore time it says 'Huere' but for the stopwatch it says 'stop'.

Does anyone know how to change the default OBC language???? help!!!  It looks
weird.
