speeding again...

This is just a response to kkcl (?) about fighting tickets even to plead no
contest. The state of Florida has a way around this: if you fight a ticket
ie. go to court, and LOSE, the judge has the discretion to increase your
fine to 500.00 . that is pretty steep to pay just for the principle of the
challenge to the ticket.I got one last year for definitely exceeding the
limit. the sherriff was polite, he pointed out that it was the other drivers
on the road that would be my problem, not my speed (road was empty, BTW )and
commended me for using my directionals even when there was no traffic. the
comment about bigger mirrors is a good one as this officer did not use radar
but certified pace. it was night.I paid my 215.00 and got on with my life.
