Re (2): Nitrous Oxide on BMW's

My apologies,

I mis-spoke about the type of air sensor in Ruell's 318ti. These cars are
fitted with the vane type air flow sensor, not the hot film type air mass
sensor.

>>....My plan is to place the Nitrous injector in the intake pipe before the
>>AFM. This way, I can just change the Intake when I'm not using Nos. Would
>>nitrous affect any sensor reading I should be concerned about?

>Ruell-

>The AFM is the Air Flow Meter, right? As I understand it, BMW uses a hot wire
>sensor to measure air flow. The wire is heated to a specific temperature, and
>the amount of voltage required to maintain that temperature is proportional to
>the air mass flowing past it. If you put nitrous up-stream of the AFM, the
>cooling effect of the expanding nitrous (from liquid to vapor) would play havoc
>with this sensor....
