E30 front seats

Thanks from a new reader for some great information.

I have an 86 325i (UK spec.) with cloth seats. The drivers seat squab is
wearing thin but the passenger seat is still in good order. On the surface
they look interchangeable. I would be very glad to hear if this is so and
whether anybody has had experience of changing them.
