Hello,
	Before you go spending big bucks and synchros and shims and such, 
check your shift tower mounts.  Your shifter is connected to the 
tranny with a thing called the shift tower.  The shift tower has two 
mounts that have rubber in them.  The rubber goes bad and that 
causes play between the tranny and the shifter.  You can tell really 
easy by getting under the car and moving the shift tower.  You 
should be able to see very easily where the play is.  By the way, 
this is also a good time to look at your flex disc and center 
support bearing.  Hope this helps
