Hawk Blue brake pad ramblings

This mirrors my experience w/Hawk pads on my M3 LWT at Thunderhill exactly
- -- great when hot, not much dust (I wax my wheels before every track
session anyway -- afterwards makes cleaning trivial), and very loud. I
actually ran Blues up front and Y-5's (the autocross pad) in the rear due
to lack of availability of the Blues, and everything worked great.

The only real problem (as Carl has recently alluded (sp?) to) is that they
clang around (esp. in the rear) and make lots of mechanical noise (not just
when braking) -- I, too, had used the red CRC stuff, but had not waited 72
hours (!) -- I will next time.  The clanging was so bad I was black-flagged
early on, and had to assure the track steward that everything was in fact
OK.

This weekend, I'll be racing my 914-4 at Thunderhill w/Cool Carbons
all-around -- I'm interested to see if there's any noticeable difference.
