coolant & distilled water quandary

I noticed someone suggested using "distilled" water to mix with =
antifreeze.  I once read that this is NOT a good idea as the antifreeze =
is designed to mix with water of a particular pH level and distilled =
water is the thing to do and that plain tap water is actually better.  I =
was a little shocked to read that tap water was actually the better =
choice.  Can anyone more knowledgeable corroborate this?
