Alpine CD Changer for 90 325IC

Does anyone know what model(s) Alpine CD Changer in the trunk it is or are?  Can a stock Alpine be used with a special BMW cable?  Any tips for improvement of the crappy sounding speakers on the 325IC?  Also, any idea why the MPG and MPH doesn't indicat anything but 000 on the computer display?
