<E36> Swapping Seats/Covers???

I posted this message a few days ago, but received no responses; so I thought
I'd try it again.  Thanks for your  indulgence:

After 66,000 miles of mostly no-passenger driving, I notice a big difference
between the driver's and front passenger's leather seats.  Driver's is smooth
and well-broken in, while passenger's is far less worn.  Does anyone know if
the seats or the leather covers can be swapped to even out the wear?  If so,
any instructions and/or helpful hints?  TIA
