320i 3-row radiator

My newlyontheroadafteryearsofsittingup '77 320i is running warm with
the present radiator. (Hey! that might explain the cracked head I had
when I bought the car.) I replaced the water pump with a 2002 unit and
matching pulley (larger pulley=underdrive) and removed the plastic
*&#$@ fan. The electric (boogie woogie) fan is working properly.
The engine timing is correct, and there is 50% antifreeze mix in
the system. Thermostat is new and a 71 C unit, which means it holds
off the hot running for, oh, 5 more miles each trip. Every day over 90
degrees F means I'm driving my necktied self home with the heater on.
Of course, the heater valve is broken anyway...

SO,
    I got a '77 320i radiator redone with a 3-row core for $160 here
locally. It is NOT an aluminum core a la '79-'83 320's, but an early
brass unit. If your 320i is overheating and you can't fathom paying
$150-$200 for a new stock radiator, this is a viable alternative.
Given I have a soon-to-be working AC system on the car, I need all the
capacity I can muster.
The '02 pump gives you >1/2" more space too.
I have a 3-row 2002 radiator, too. It is virtually new, and worked
great on my 9.5:1 Webered/Stahl'd '68. GoshImissthatcar. Got to find
a car now to use the rad! :)
