A useful tip and/or tool for this sort of problem is the Black & Decker 1/4" drive power ratchet. It does not have enormous torque but does make it much easier getting into tight corners. I have used mine a lot under the dash. DaveE '90 E30 M40 318i and past 525i - much regretted loss - I LOVED it!
