Frank,
I have a '93 318is which also has poor seals around the rear pop-out windows
that you mentioned.  I suspect that the problem is that the seals are
slightly too long (if measured end to end) and thus tend to bubble up.  I
have thought about asking the dealer to replace them but I didn't want to go
through the hassle.
