E28 starting problems

Hello all

My 1984 520iA has been having some starting problems ever since I got 
the car 2 years ago - sometimes it takes a lot of cranking before it 
fires up. Oddly enough, this always happens when the engine is warm, and 
I am restarting it after a run, though it sometimes happens the first 
start of the day. Once started it runs fine.
Plugs / plug leads / coil are new. Should I change the rotor / 
distributor cap as well ? How long do these things last ? I have about 
80K miles on the car. 
Any suggestions will be welcome.
