BMW Event at US Air Arena

A friend of mine was invited to the US Air Arena in the DC area this past
Saturday for some sort of Mercedes-Benz/BMW promotion in the parking lot.
Get this. He gets an invite in the mail to test drive cars, eat food, and
speak with MB reps. Only 25 people were invited. How they got invited, he
does not know. He thinks it was because he left a message on the MB or BMW
Web page. Anyway, he gets there, to the reserved parking lot. Theres a
tent, food, BMW 540, 740, Jaguar something or other, and Two Mercedes 420's.
There was an obstacle course involving sand, some guythrowing foam boulders,
etc. And then they got a chance to skidpad test all the cars right in the
parking lot, with trained instructors in the passenger seats. Just so
happens that the instructors were all tall attractive women, per my friend.
Each person got a chance to drive each car. As hard as he wanted, as fast
as he wanted. On the course, and on a reserved 4 mile road in the back of
the arena. Afterwards, everyone filled out
questionaires.
The above is the excited synopsis given by my friend. Anyone in the DC
area know
what the hell was going on out there? Was it BMW or MB that sponsored the
event?
