The 8/96 issue of Scientific American notes that Mercedes-Benz now offers 
multicolored paint: changes colors depending on source/direction of the 
light. (pp. 34-35). The cost is DM$10K (about US$2500 in 1956; homework 
to do the conversion rate now).

SciAm seems to think this is a great innovation.  Yet readers of this Net 
know that BMW as usual is one step ahead: to integrate BMWs with nature, 
new models retain imprints of leaves and bird output ;-)
