Still Sizzlin'



Jim Moran writes of differentiating between detonation and
pre-ignition/knock, as pointed out by the Land Shark.  I, too have used the
terms interchangeably.  

Is the suggestion that the term detonation only refers to spark propagated
combustion, while pre-ignition/knock refers to pressure (or otherwise)
propagated combustion?

Please clarify, Jims.
