safety recall

Hi folks

I've just received a safety recall notice for my 318is. Apparently 
they need to inspect the "heater ventilation flap" immediately.

Does anyone know what this is about, and what happens to faulty
ones.

Secondly, does anyone know how to replace the glass headlamp cover.
I can see two clips on top but they don't release it.
