Importing a BMW from Europe (Belgium)

Hi

Anyone know if it's possible, or economically feasible to import a '92 325i
from Belgium into Canada/US? The car has catalytic converter but no airbags.
I've spoken to local dealers but they're not interested in converting a
european car to Canadian specs. They argue that it is not cost-effective without
being able to provide specifics on the conversion.

Why do I consider doing this? The car is highly spec-ed, and i doubt that I'd
be able to replace it without more costs.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
