2002 ignition & electrics

I'm have two unrelated problems with my '73 2002.

i) ignition

This I can probably fix with a tune-up. The car runs on < 4
cylinders when cold, especially when started cold when it is
cold or moist out. Once it warms up, it fires on all 4, but
it misfires at around 2500 rpm (especially when load is taken
off the motor). What's the guess? Bad consdensor? Bad point
adjustment? I don't have a dwell meter, so it's sort of hit
and miss with a gauge. Also, I don't get the tell-tale blue
spark when I open the points by hand with ignition on.

ii) headlamp electrics

This one confuses me. I'm out a low beam on the passenger headlamp.
A direct feed of current to the lowbeam lead gives light, so I
assume the bulb is fine. A volt meter between the lowbeam feed
(on the clip to the headlamp) and the ground on the same clip
gives 12v (or thereabouts). So I assume the wiring is ok.
  What am I missing?
