re: Older BMW Parts

          Paul,
Glad to hear from you. This is an excellent idea on Munich's
part, I hope NA follows suit. Bet they got this idea from their
Rover take over, who have British Motor Heritage Trust set up, who
either license the remanufacture of parts, or, their own
manufacturing, as is the case with MGB, Midget, TR6 and other body
shells. Imagine being able to buy a brand new 2002 body shell for
$5,000! I can for my MGB if I want, complete with doors, fenders,
hood & trunk lids. All I have to do is call one of several
suppliers here in the US. And this is all thanks to BMHT, of
course, now owned by BMW AG! I see a trend (a good one!) here.

Paul, since you asked for specifics, here's mine, I would like
E3 ("Bavaria") support, for obvious reasons (see below), although
most is still readily available, soft trim is a weak point
(upholstery, door panels, carpet). I'm not deluding myself here
that E3 parts will take precedence over 02 parts, or coupe parts,
or Isetta parts, or Baroque Angel parts...well, you get the idea.
Nice to see that BMW wants to support the older models, though, it
does enhance the marques visibility and creates a positive image.

My 2 pfennings worth, thanks for asking, Paul.
