'79 320i for autoX
Someone (McIntyre, perhaps?) said he found a $900 320i and considered
autoX it for fun.
1: Hell yes, at that price you can't beat a sturdy 320i.
2: Drop in a '80-'83 S-package differential. The LSD, like
someone said, is essential.
3: Wheeeeee!
I have a '82 and a '77 320i and they're, well, different. The
'77, although higher mileage, still runs pretty well. It has been
changed to a 5-speed and that makes for some tall touring. The '82's
top gear is better although the motor is less torquey at 1800cc. Sorta
about equal. So the 2.0 with a 3.90:1 would be funnn...
It was a 2.0, wasn't it?
