Brake pads, dust and vibrations

I just had my rotors and pads replaced under warranty for the "Brake
induced vibration" problem I posted the service bulletin about a few weeks
ago. They did it with no arguments. Fix one thing you break something
else right? Within one week my wheels were solid black w/ brake dust, much
worse than before. I was considering getting some of the dust shields or
switching to a different pad that would neither vibrate or double as a dust
factory.

The obvious concern w/ the dust shields would be heat. Any experiences
with these out there? (Doug, you don't seem real fond of yours.) I could
not find anything on brake dust or pads in the FAQ.

How about experiences w/ aftermarket brake pads? I was using Repco's on my
325e a couple years back, and they seemed to work well w/o nearly as much
dust. I noticed in Roundel there are two versions of Repco's. I don't
remember if the ones I used were the Metal Masters or the Deluxe models
(difference?) I dont do any track driving, but I do occasionally work the
brakes pretty hard.

Thanks in advance,
