Factory Service Manual

I am wondering where I could obtain, via mail-order, a Factory Service
Manual for a 1980 BMW 320i.  I have the Haynes manual, but it tends to be
sketchy.  Is the Factory Service Manual good for the
beginner-going-on-intermediate car mechanic or is it overkill?  Does it
have worthwhile trouble-shooting advice?
