I have an 88' M3 that due to my poor driving habits has a loose rear-end. There is play in the drivetrain with the transmission in neutral. It seems to be the differential. I spoke to Metric Mechanic and they said it probably too much gear lash on the ring and pinion gears. My question is... is this something a shadetree mechanic like myself can tackle? My understanding is that the diff. is identical to E30 325. jp
